The Kinetic Group was founded in 2001 by Jeremy Dockter when he saw the need for a different kind of strategic/financial advisory and venture accelerator business model. Initially established to provide traditional investment banking and strategic advisory services to established businesses, TKG quickly morphed into a broader practice which initiated/assisted in the launch and/or growth of a number of new ventures and corporate spin-outs.
Both at TKG and previously at other boutique advisory firms. Jeremy has specialized in investment banking, executive management, strategic consulting, business planning, economic modeling and market analysis. Jeremy's investment banking work has included private placements, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), corporate divestitures and buyouts.
Jeremy's clients have ranged from FORTUNE 500 multi-nationals to start-up and early stage ventures. In addition to many U.S. and Canadian companies, Jeremy has also advised numerous clients in Europe, Asia and South America.
Jeremy has particular expertise working with and/or launching technology-based companies. Much of his focus has been in the Clean Tech/Environmental, Alternative/Renewable Energy, Conventional Energy, Natural Resources, Process Industries, and Technology sectors. In addition to his day-to-day work in these fields, Jeremy is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and symposia covering these topics.
As a serial entrepreneur in addition to his investment banking and advisory work, Jeremy is also the Founder of Kinetic Venture Labs, Circular Enterprises, Circular SynTech, LLC and numerous other companies as well as Co-Founder of Seaquest CCS, LLC and Co-Founder of Expansion Energy LLC, a developer of innovative energy and environmental technologies with a portfolio of more than 30 global patents.
Jeremy has also played instrumental roles as an originator, executive and/or financial advisor for a number of large energy, renewable energy, petrochemicals and agribusiness project developments — typically ranging from several hundred million to several billion dollars in scale.
Jeremy has also served in executive and management roles within a number of other companies and professional services firms. These have included positions as the CEO of an enterprise software company, the head of strategic planning and corporate development for a specialty chemicals company, and post-university as an engagement manager and senior consultant for a worldwide strategic consulting and market research firm which had a clientele of more than two-thirds of the FORTUNE 500 list during Jeremy's time there and was later acquired by FIND/SVP.
Jeremy holds an MBA degree in Strategic Management and Finance from Columbia University in New York, which consistently ranks as one of the world's top 10 business schools. He also holds a degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Dockter was also previously Chair of the Private Equity Committee of the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of New York.
